I, IV, V Chords

I, IV, V chords also known as Three Primary Chords, see the full list of Three Primary Chords in all 12 keys.
 
In any given Major Scale, there are three major chords (I, IV, and V), three minor chords (ii, iii, vi), and one diminished chord (vii or o).
 
The major chords are also the primary chords. So, in the key of C, the three primary chords are: C, F, and G.

        C Chord (I) – notes are C-E-G
        F Chord (IV) – notes are F-A-C
        G Chord (V) – notes are G-B-D

Primary chords are built on the 1st (I) note, 4th (IV), and 5th (V) of any given major scale.
