It is called the whole tone scale because every note in the scale is separated by an interval of one whole step.2. Notes of the Whole Tone ScaleYou can play the whole tone scale by playing the group of three black keys and the group of three white keys that surround the group of two black keys. Below is an animation of notes being played from the whole tone scale.Try to play this pattern yourself. Also, try to play notes of the whole tone scale in different orders. Try holding some notes of the whole tone scale longer than others. See what kind of strange and mysterious tunes you can come up with! Just have fun with it! 3.
