In the video below, you will learn how to improvise music by applying a different chord pattern. We will show you how to play “Root Chord Pattern” (see the second demo in the video below).

Steps to play C chord using root chord pattern are:

1. Play the root note of the chord first
(i.e. Note C)
(note: play note C one octave lower than the chord itself)
 
2. Followed by the full chord itself (i.e. C-E-G).

 
 
This song is played in 4/4 time, which means there are four (4) beats in a measure, and each beat get a quarter note. Just as with any of the songs, practice to play the left-hand chords first until your feel comfortable playing all of the chords, then learn the right-hand notes.
 
The first Flash demo – you will be playing seven chords in the left hand, they are:

C chord, the notes are C-E-G
G chord, the notes are G-B-D
F chord, the notes are F-A-C
Am chord, the notes are A-C-E
Dm chord, the notes are D-F-A
E chord, the notes are E-G^#-B
A chord, the notes are A-C^#-E

Play the root chord note by itself first, ,then followed by the full chord.
e.g instead of playing Am chord –
play the note A by itself, then followed by the full chord Am
