The Formula for Major Scale is –

Root Note, WS, WS, HS, WS, WS, WS, HS

WS is Whole Step, or Whole Tone
HS is Half Step, or Half Tone, or Semi-Tone)

So, the notes of C Major Scale (CMaj) are:

C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C

Major scale in the key of C, starts with:

C which is the Root Note.
C to D is a Whole Step (WS)
D to E is also a Whole Step (WS)
E to F is a Half Step (HS)
F to G is a Whole Step (WS)
G to A is a Whole Step (WS)
A to B is a Whole Step (WS)
B to C is a Half Step ((HS))
